"Sarah is a tried and true professional. She arrives prepared and ready to get the best shots. She knows what she is doing, and that leads to photographs with great lighting, poses, and comfortable "subjects." She is communicative and reliable, but most importantly, her work is beautiful.
Sarah has taken photographs of my family and of our business, and she has done a fantastic job in both settings."

Kind Words
-
When should I contact you to book my senior portrait session?I start booking senior sessions as early as February or March for the following school year. It’s best to contact me as soon as possible to get on my calendar in your preferred season, as they are booked on a first come first serve basis.
-
What’s the best time of year to schedule senior portraits?Senior sessions are typically scheduled between mid-July and early November, depending on your preferred season and weather conditions.
-
Do you offer sessions on both weekends and weekdays?Yes, sessions are available throughout the week, with some weekend availability. I book one weekend day per week and prioritize those clients with busy sports or after-school schedules. All sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
Do you require a downpayment?I don’t require a deposit to secure a session. However, bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Clients will complete a photography agreement at the time of booking, which outlines the requirement for cancellations to be made in advance. Full payment will be due after clients review and select their proofs.
-
Do you provide indoor photography options?I primarily shoot outdoors using natural light, but I’m happy to photograph indoors as well. While I don’t have a personal studio, we can work together to find the perfect indoor location. Clients are responsible for arranging and booking indoor spaces.
-
Will my images be retouched?Yes! Light retouching (skin smoothing, teeth whitening and minor blemish removal, etc.) is included to ensure a polished yet natural look. I can help erase or minimize any permanent marks as needed. This may include minimal acne that snuck up, a scratch or bug bite. I am happy to honor requests to make edits beyond the original scope, for an additional charge.
-
Is there a specific number of outfit changes I can bring? Each package includes a different number of outfit changes based on the session length. Keep in mind that more outfit changes may mean less shooting time, so it's best to find a balance that works for you!
-
Could you provide some recommendations for ideal photo spots?Yes! I have a comprehensive list of amazing places in the surrounding areas with descriptions of each that I will share with you when booking your session. I am also willing to travel for an additional cost. Together, we will find the best location for your session.
-
Can we reschedule due to bad weather? What if my senior gets sick?Yes. I understand that unexpected situations can arise. I do my best to keep sessions scheduled as planned, however, life and mother nature sometimes have other plans. I watch the weather in the days leading up to your session and may suggest a reschedule if there are extreme winds, excessive heat and/or rain. The photography agreement states that clients are asked to communicate with me as soon as you know you need to reschedule.
-
What if I want more images than what’s included in my package? Is it possible to purchase additional photos?Of course! All of my packages include the flexibility to purchase additional images. You’ll receive a gallery of proofs to select from, allowing you to choose as few or as many as you’d like—even the entire gallery. Every image you select will be fully retouched.
-
What should I wear to my session? It’s ideal to choose outfits that make you feel confident and allow for easy movement and posing, whether you’re sitting, squatting, kneeling, or standing. Dresses with pockets are a fantastic choice, and bringing a mix of clothing styles—such as dresses, pants, and shorts—adds versatility to your poses. For the best results in photos, solid colors and small, repeating patterns (like delicate florals or subtle plaid) work beautifully. Layers, such as jackets or sweaters, and accessories like statement necklaces, earrings, or scarves, can also enhance your look and add dimension to the images.
-
Can I bring props?Definitely! I encourage seniors to bring items that showcase their personality and represent their high school journey—whether it’s sports equipment, musical instruments, books, an art portfolio, letter jackets, or anything else meaningful to them.
-
Can I share my photos on social media or LinkedIn?Yes, you can! However, the agreement you sign specifies that photo credit must be provided when sharing these images on social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Additionally, the images must remain unaltered.
-
Can I take pictures with my dog?Absolutely! If you’d like your pet to join your session, I recommend bringing someone along to help keep them occupied when they’re not in the spotlight. Don’t forget to bring some treats, and ensure the chosen location allows pets.
-
What is the difference between a head shot and a branding session?A head shot is a close-up portrait focused on your face, perfect for LinkedIn, company profiles, and resumes. A branding session includes a mix of headshots, environmental portraits, behind-the-scenes images, and product shots to showcase your brand and personality.
-
Will my photos be retouched?Yes! Light retouching (skin smoothing, teeth whitening and blemish removal, etc.) is included to ensure a polished yet natural look. I am happy to honor requests to make edits beyond the original scope, for an additional charge.
-
Can we reschedule if someone gets sick or other unexpected reason?Yes. I understand that life can be unexpected. I do my best to keep sessions scheduled as planned, however, understand that things happen out of our control. I just ask that you communicate with me as soon as you know you need to reschedule.
-

What should our family wear to our session?Your choice of outfit can truly elevate your session. Instead of matching, focus on coordinating your clothing. Select one or two complementary colors that you love, or go for a monochromatic look with varying shades of a single accent color. Pair these with neutral tones like browns, creams, whites, or grays for your tops and bottoms. Take into account which colors flatter your skin tone and hair color, as well as which hues will complement your home decor. Solid colors and small, repeating patterns (such as stripes or plaids) tend to photograph beautifully. Incorporate layers, like sweaters or vests, and textures, such as lace, corduroy, tweed, or linen. Accessories like statement necklaces, scarves, or bow ties can also add that extra touch. If you’d like, feel free to send me a few outfit options, and I’d be happy to help you choose the perfect look! If you’re looking for more inspiration, Pinterest is a fantastic resource. You’re going to look incredible for your session!
-
Can we include our dog?Sure! Friendly dogs are welcome! I recommend bringing treats or toys to keep their attention for photos.
